ZAINEB ALAOUI’S CONTRAST

Zaineb Alaoui’s artistic formation has accompanied her since childhood, strongly shaped by the artistic practice of her mother in the field of painting. From this early sensitivity emerged a deep and lasting engagement with art. After completing a degree in medical physics in Berlin, she initially worked as an engineer and lecturer. At the same time, she deepened her painting practice in an autodidactic way and explored fundamental questions of perception, memory, and inner visual spaces through photography.

With her conscious return to painting, the artist shifted her focus toward a free and intuitive form of abstraction. Through the interplay of colour, structure, and material, she developed a distinctive visual language.

In her studio in Düsseldorf, she creates works that translate human experiences, moods, and inner processes into multilayered pictorial spaces. Her works move within the tension between dynamic gesture, atmospheric density, and visual poetry.

Following her first presentation in Düsseldorf in 2025, exhibitions were held in Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, Spain, and France; in 2026, her works were also shown in the Netherlands.

In her series “Contrasts,” she reflects on the fundamental oppositions of life, nature, and the cosmos, transforming them into a sensitive and dynamic equilibrium. Each work unfolds a quiet force that does not resolve tensions but transforms them—creating spaces for reflection and inner calm.
